A retiree from Drysdale thought he'd pocketed $2,000 in the weekend’s TattsLotto draw, only to be stunned when an official from The Lott revealed he’d actually scored an incredible $2 million.
The Victorian held one of the three division one winning entries nationally in TattsLotto draw 4649, drawn Saturday 7 February 2026. He looks forward to a total prize of $2,007,450.30.
Drysdale has been on a remarkable winning streak, with another local pocketing $1 million earlier this year thanks to a ticket purchased at Drysdale Newsagency & Tatts Lotto, 12-14 High Street, Drysdale.
“Wait, how much did you say?” he laughed when an official from The Lott confirmed his windfall.
“Oh god! I thought it was $2,000 not $2 million!
“I looked at the winning numbers in the paper and I thought to myself, ‘I’ve got most of those’. I got my ticket out and went through it.
“I’ve been playing TattsLotto for five years. It all kind of started when my daughter and son-in-law started owning a newsagency.
“It’s funny because my son-in-law would always tell me that my marked numbers weren’t good and that I should change them. He was wrong!
“I’m going to call over my wife right now so she can listen into the call.
“We’re really overwhelmed so we’re not too sure what we will do.
“Thank you for the call! I really appreciate the good news!”
His winning System 7 entry was purchased at Drysdale Lotto, Drysdale Village Shopping Centre, Shop 8, Wyndham Street, Drysdale.
Drysdale Lotto owner Tian Ma said she was very excited to have sold her first division one winning entry, sharing it was a moment she’d been dreaming of for years.
“I was really excited, and I had to read the notification email several times as I couldn’t believe the news! I have dreamt of this moment for a long time!” she shared.
“I’m really happy for the winner and it’s great encouragement for our team as well. We’re going to decorate the shop with colourful balloons and some winner posters.
“Our customers will be so excited to hear we sold a division one winning entry as most of our customers are local residents who buy from us regularly.
“A big congratulations to our winner! We’re really happy for you and hope you enjoy your prize.”
The winning numbers in TattsLotto draw 4649 on 7 February 2026 were 8, 9, 33, 27, 3 and 41, while the supplementary numbers were 25 and 15.
Across Australia, there were three division one winning entries in TattsLotto draw 4649 – one each in Victoria, New South Wales and Western Australia.
