An Ormeau man has revealed he thought his eyes were playing tricks on him when he checked his Instant Scratch-Its ticket and realised he’d scratched a $150,000 top prize win.

The Gold Coast resident’s winning $10 Connect Crosswords ticket was purchased at Ormeau Village Newsagency, Shop 6, 37-59 Eggersdorf Road, Ormeau.

When an official from The Lott reached out to confirm his prize, the winning man shared that playing a Crosswords Instant Scratch-Its ticket each week had become his favourite ritual over the years

“It still hasn’t sunk in!” he shared.

“It’s a pretty good feeling knowing I have $150,000 coming my way. I can’t believe I’m saying that out loud.

“I’ve been buying one Crosswords ticket a week for ages now.

“It’s become my favourite weekly ritual – a quiet drink and a Crosswords ticket.

“Once I realised, I’d won something, I think I checked my ticket about 50 times. I just couldn’t believe my eyes.

“I rang up my best mate and told him to get over to my place to help me check it.

“It was really something special.

“Once I get the money, I might just book myself a holiday.”
