The revelation of a $10 million win kept a Canberra mum awake all night wondering if she really was last night’s only Oz Lotto jackpot winner and now suddenly a multi-millionaire.
The ACT woman held the only division one winning entry across Australia in Oz Lotto draw 1425, drawn Tuesday 8 June 2021. She’s walked away with an incredible $10,487,834.11.
Confirming the news with an official from The Lott this morning, the sleepy but excited winner said she wasn’t quite sure if she had dreamt the multi-million-dollar win.
“Oh dear!” she cried with happiness.
“Thank you very much. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you.
“I checked my ticket last night, and I couldn’t believe it. I really couldn’t believe it.
“I didn’t sleep at all. I was lying awake thinking about what we will do if it’s true!
“I’m still in shock.
“I’ve got to sit down and really take it in now. It’s going to take a while to sink in.
“I’ve been playing for a long time but I didn’t ever think I’d win this kind of money!”
With an incredible $10 million about to hit her bank account, the Canberra mum said she’d spent the night thinking about what she’d do with the unbelievable multi-million-dollar prize.
“My husband and I both recently retired, so the timing is perfect,” she explained.
“We want to buy a new home.
“And we really want to help our children – that’s the main thing at the moment.
“It’s really, really satisfying to be able to do that.
“And hopefully we can go overseas and travel to Canada one day soon!”

The winning numbers in Oz Lotto draw 1425 on Tuesday 8 June 2021 were 8, 9, 33, 7, 16, 14 and 45 while the supplementary numbers were 24 and 15.
