A Padstow shopper is planning to spend the weekend celebrating their surprise $10,000 windfall after scoring one of the top prizes on a $1 Cactus Cash Instant Scratch-Its ticket.
The winning ticket was purchased at Padstow North Newsagency, 91 Gibson Avenue, Padstow.
However, how the winner plans to spend their $10,000 instant windfall will forever remain a mystery as they have chosen to remain completely anonymous and celebrate in private.
Padstow North Newsagency manager Yisan Liang said he was overwhelmed with excitement the moment he discovered one of his customers was $10,000 richer.
“When our customer came into the outlet with the winning Instant Scratch-Its ticket they were shaking and so was I!” he exclaimed.
“I was incredibly excited to see this huge prize go to one of our local customers.
“Congratulations to them! We have no doubt they’ll enjoy their prize.”
Instant Scratch-Its spokesperson Lauren Cooney said she’s seen plenty of Instant Scratch-Its top prizes land in New South Wales recently.
“We recently spoke to a couple from Armidale who also won $10,000 on an Instant Scratch-Its ticket. They told us their prize would give them the freedom to pay a few bills and splurge on a holiday,” she said.
“Many winners tell us they use their Instant Scratch-Its top prize on home renovations, family holidays or upgrading their cars.
“We look forward to crowning more top prize winners as there are still a colossal number of prizes across all tiers in the Instant Scratch-Its range.”
In 2018, 155 Instant Scratch-Its top prize winners collectively took home more than $14.26 million.
During this same time, 25,716,051 winners pocketed more than $205.8 million across all Instant Scratch-Its prize tiers.
