A Parkes man is laying the foundations for his dream home makeover after pocketing a $100,000 prize in a recent Lucky Lotteries draw.
The Central West region resident held the 1st Prize winning entry in Lucky Lotteries Super Jackpot draw 10962, drawn Thursday 17 April 2025. He also pocketed a consolation prize, boosting his total win to $102,000.
“That’s pretty good news! Very good news!” he cheered when his prize was revealed by an official from The Lott.
“I never expect to win. I always just buy a ticket and hope for the best.
“I’ve come close to winning the big one on a few occasions. It feels surreal.
“My old house needs a lot of work done. Renovations are expensive, so this has come at the perfect time.
“It’s just great news. Today feels extra good now.”
His winning entry of five consecutive numbers was purchased at newsXpress Parkes, 284 Clarinda Street, Parkes.
newsXpress Parkes manager Melissa Cowling shared she was thrilled to hear a local customer had won $100,000 from a ticket purchased at her outlet.
“We’re very excited to hear that a local might be the lucky winner,” she said.
“Our community are going to be over the moon to hear that our little town has scooped up a big win.
“We’ve already proudly put up signage notifying everyone of the good news out front.
“This marks our fifth major prize win in the past 10 years at our outlet. We’re so thrilled to have done it again.
“We wish our winning customer all the best with their future!”
