After waiting 22 years, a 29-person private Penguin syndicate can finally toast division one success after scoring a triumphant $325,000 in the weekend’s TattsLotto draw.

The north-west Tasmanian players held one of the 17 division one winning entries in TattsLotto draw 4265, drawn Saturday 4 June 2022 and share $325,108.66.

The private syndicate leader checked her winning ticket on Sunday morning and was left mind-boggled with the revelation.

“It’s wonderful news! We’re so happy,” she laughed.

“It’s a syndicate shared between 29 people, and we all used to work together. This syndicate has been running since the 2000s – over 22 years!

“I checked the ticket on Sunday morning, and I couldn’t believe it. I told all the syndicate holders straight away.

“A lot of them have been doing it hard because of the pandemic, so this really goes a long way.

“It’s truly unbelievable!”

When asked how she planned to enjoy her share of the division one prize, the syndicate leader immediately knew what she was going to do.

“It’s been so cold these past few weeks, so it would be nice to install ducted heating!” she shared.

“Otherwise, I’m not too sure what the other ticketholders plan to do with their prize, but I’ll know it will go to good use.”

Their winning System 8 entry was purchased at Penguin Newsagency, 68 Main Road, Penguin.

Penguin Newsagency & TattsLotto supervisor Emily Goodson said the outlet was celebrating selling its first division one winning entry in 13 years.

“We are so happy for our little town to finally have a division one win!” she said.

“I was very excited when I first found out. I couldn’t believe we had finally sold a winning ticket so I rang all my team members to share the exciting news.

“The first owners of the outlet sold four division one winners in their time here, but there has not been one in over 13 years.”

The winning numbers in TattsLotto draw 4265 on 4 June 2022 were 23, 25, 7, 13, 8 and 17, while the supplementary numbers were 42 and 31.

Across Australia, there were 17 division one winning entries in TattsLotto draw 4265 – six in Western Australia, four in Victoria, three in Queensland, two in South Australia and one each in the Northern Territory and Tasmania.
