“It’s a bit surreal!” he chuckled when an official from The Lott confirmed his win this morning.

“I discovered it on Saturday night while watching the footy. The winning numbers came up one by one during an ad break. I thought to myself, ‘those numbers look familiar!’

“Then it hit me that those lottery numbers were the numbers on my Saturday X Lotto ticket!

“I couldn’t believe it. I chose those numbers by random over two decades ago.

“I never expected them to come up.

“We celebrated on Sunday morning. It’s been a long and celebratory weekend!

“Thank you to everyone at The Lott for changing our lives.”

When asked how he planned to enjoy his life-enhancing lottery loot, the cheery man revealed it would help him undertake some renovations around the house.

“We’ve been wanting to make some upgrades to the house and then put it on the market,” he explained.

“It’s finally achievable for us which is an amazing feeling.”

His winning marked System 8 entry was purchased at Ellen Centre Newsagency, Woolworths Complex, Shop 8, 180 Ellen Street, Port Pirie.

Ellen Centre Newsagency owner Tracey Sandow said she’d already decorated her shop in celebration.

“What a life-changing experience for one of our regular customers,” she said.

“Everyone is already very excited and wishing it was them.

“Over 21 years, we’ve sold five division one winning entries – the last one was in September 2021.

“Our staff are very excited to sell a division one winning entry again. Sharing the excitement with our customers is fun.

“Congratulations to our winner and enjoy!”
