The Powerball juggernaut is back, with the jackpot soaring to $100 million for next week’s draw on Thursday 12 June 2025.
Next Thursday’s $100 million prize is the biggest jackpot offered by Powerball so far in 2025. It’s also the sixth-biggest jackpot in Australian lottery history.
It comes after there were no division one winners during the past four Powerball draws.
While no one took home the multi-million-dollar jackpot in tonight’s Powerball draw, there were a total of 1,318,209 prizes worth more than $26.3 million in divisions two to nine. Among those winners were six division two winners who each took home a $121,979.60 prize.
Up to half of Australian adults are expected to have an entry into next week’s $100 million Powerball draw with the hopes of becoming a newly minted multi-millionaire.
The Lott spokesperson Matt Hart said Aussies would be eagerly eyeing next week’s Powerball draw to see if one or more players took home a slice of the division one prize.
“It’s been more than six months since Powerball last offered $100 million to Australian lottery players – on that occasion, the prize was won by two division one winning entries,” he said.
“We will be waiting on the edge of our seats to see if Powerball welcomes another division one winner or two next week, or if the jackpot climbs even higher.
“So far this year, Powerball has seen a steady procession of division one winners, which is why we haven’t seen the jackpot climb too high… until now.
“While our other jackpotting game, Oz Lotto, offered a $100 million prize in February, won by an Elizabeth Hills woman, this is the first time Powerball has hit $100 million in 2025.
“If just one player wins the entire $100 million prize, they’ll not only expect to receive a multi-million-dollar boost to their bank account, but they’ll also share the crown of Australia’s third biggest individual lottery winner ever.
“Many Aussies are likely already imagining their plans for the remainder of 2025 and beyond if they won a slice of Powerball’s $100 million prize. It would certainly make for a dream finish to the financial year. An extended holiday, early retirement, the dream home and anything else on your wish list could quickly become a reality.”
To ensure players were in with a chance to win the $100 million Powerball jackpot, Mr Hart reminded players that the draw closed at 7.30pm AEST on Thursday 12 June 2025.
“The only way players can be in with a chance to secure the multi-million-dollar prize is by grabbing a ticket either in-store, online or via The Lott app,” he said.
“Our biggest tip to players is to register their entries to The Lott Members Club, and keep those contact details up to date. By registering an entry, we’ll be able to reach out to you immediately after the draw if you win big.”
The winning numbers in Powerball draw 1516 on Thursday 5 June 2025 were 1, 30, 12, 34, 24, 9 and 6. The all-important Powerball number was 10.
