A pair of golf buddies from Pymble are celebrating a win off the golf course today after discovering they scored $200,000 in the latest Lucky Lotteries Mega Jackpot draw.
The Sydney friends won the guaranteed 1st Prize of $200,000 in Lucky Lotteries Mega Jackpot draw 1138, drawn on Friday 5 October 2018.
Speaking to a NSW Lotteries official this morning to confirm their win, the private syndicate leader couldn’t contain his excitement.
“Wow! Amazing isn’t it?” he exclaimed.
“This is actually halves with someone else – someone I play golf with. I’ve phoned him up already and said we’re both $100,000 richer.
“It’s absolutely amazing. You must hear it a lot, but you never really think you’ll win until it happens to you!”
The regular Lucky Lotteries player shared how he and his friend came to hold the winning ticket.
“When we play golf together, whoever has the best score on the day buys the lottery ticket for us,” he said.
“I don’t know what my friend’s going to do with his share – he’s pretty excited. It’s a great help for me and my wife for our retirement.
“One hundred thousand dollars each is not a bad effort!”
The friends, who wish to remain anonymous, purchased their entry of two random numbers online at thelott.com – Australia’s official lotteries.
The Lucky Lotteries Mega Jackpot prize is now $22.36 million for draw 1140 while the Lucky Lotteries Super Jackpot is now $630,000 for draw 10251.
