A Queanbeyan man has discovered that winning a major lottery prize can come with unexpected side effects after his $1 million Weekday Windfall win left him feeling light-headed and in dire need of a sit-down.
The Southern Tablelands resident held one of the two division one winning entries in Weekday Windfall draw 4403 on Friday 14 June 2024. He took home a total prize of $1 million.
“I’m pretty good!” he laughed when speaking to an official from The Lott.
“Hang on, I’m going to need to sit down for this!
“Wow! It feels great.
“I went in on Saturday and they told me the prize was over $1,000 so they couldn’t pay it over the counter.
“So, I went online and started checking off my numbers. I’m counting them and I’m thinking, ‘Oh s***! I’ve got all six! I’ve got all six!’.
“I had to sit down. I thought I was going to faint.
“Once I knew, I told my children. They’re very happy for me.
“It’s going to set our family up. I’m much older and I’ve never owned a home.
“Thank you so much!”
The man’s winning 15-game entry was purchased from Queanbeyan City Newsagency & Lotto, 168 Crawford Street, Queanbeyan.
Queanbeyan City Newsagency & Lotto manager Vinay Kumar Vydula said he was overjoyed to have sold a winning entry and had decorated the store to celebrate.

The winning numbers in Weekday Windfall draw 4403 on Friday 14 June 2024 were 3, 1, 20, 9, 18 and 4, while the supplementary numbers were 10 and 12.
Across Australia, there were two division one winning entries in Weekday Windfall draw 4403 – one in New South Wales and one in South Australia.
The Lott’s division one winning tally has now reached 404 so far in FY24, including 136 won by NSW Lotteries customers.
