A Renmark local or visitor has walked into 2022 as a newly minted multi-millionaire after scoring more than $2.3 million in X Lotto’s $40 Million Megadraw.
The South Australian player held one of the 17 division one winning entries across Australia in X Lotto draw 4221 on Friday 31 December 2021. Each division one winning entry scored $2,352,941.18.
However, how they plan to spend their windfall will forever remain a mystery as they have chosen to stay completely anonymous and celebrate in private.
The winning entry was purchased from Renmark Plaza Newsagency, Shop 12 Renmark Plaza Shopping Centre, Sturt Highway, Renmark.
Renmark Plaza Newsagency owner Jane Evans said she was thrilled to hear the winner had come forward and claimed their prize.
“What a great way to start the new year!” she said.
“I can only imagine how excited the winner was when they realised they’d become a multi-millionaire! Hopefully it makes a great difference to their life.
“We’d love to send our congratulations to our winner. We couldn’t be happier for them!
“Hopefully we have more big wins throughout the year.”
The Lott spokesperson Ally Ramsamy said she was sure the winner was busy making exciting plans for 2022 with their multi-million-dollar windfall.
“While we may never know how they plan to enjoy their prize, we have no doubt they are walking around today grinning from ear to ear after discovering their win,” she said.
“Other winners tell us they use their prize to help their families, buy a new house, upgrade their home with renovations or splurge on a new car.
“However our winner chooses to use their prize, we hope they enjoy the winning feeling as long as they can.”
The winning numbers in X Lotto draw 4221 on 31 December 2021 were 32, 14, 15, 8, 43 and 20, while the supplementary numbers were 35 and 31.
