A retired couple from Athelstone are looking forward to a future of jet-setting after scoring $200,000 in a recent Lucky Lotteries Mega Jackpot draw on the first entry they’d ever bought into the game.
The Adelaide locals won the guaranteed 1st Prize of $200,000 in Lucky Lotteries Mega Jackpot draw 1369, drawn Friday 28 June 2019.
Sharing his joy with a SA Lotteries official this morning, the husband confessed the win had come a good time for him and his wife.
“It was such a surprise when we won!” he declared.
“I’d never played Lucky Lotteries before so I couldn’t believe it.
“I was putting in my weekly lotto ticket when the girl behind the counter told me about Lucky Lotteries. I’d never heard of it before but thought I’d give it a go.
“I checked my ticket on Friday afternoon and they told me I had won. It was unbelievable!”
When asked how the couple planned to enjoy their windfall, the happy husband admitted they knew exactly how they would spend it.
“We are retired and my wife is recovering from some health issues so it has come at a great time,” he revealed.
“We’ve decided once she is on the mend we will put it all towards our travels.
“We aren’t sure where we will go just yet. We haven’t decided – we just know it will be enjoyed to the fullest!”
The winners, who wish to remain anonymous, purchased their winning entry at Athelstone Newsagency, Shop 6 Athelstone Shopping Centre, 320 George Road, Athelstone.
Athelstone Newsagency owner Paul Cox said he was thrilled his outlet had sold their first Lucky Lotteries Mega Jackpot 1st Prize.
“This is the first Lucky Lotteries 1st Prize we’ve ever sold and the biggest win we’ve sold so far!” he exclaimed.
“We are so thrilled for our customers and we wish them all the best.
“We’ve decorated the store and have been telling all of our customers. We hope there are more wins for our customers soon – maybe even the jackpot!”
The Lucky Lotteries Mega Jackpot prize is now $78.52 million for draw 1373 while the Lucky Lotteries Super Jackpot is now $2.06 million for draw 10297.
