A Rockhampton couple has confessed the revelation they’re now multi-millionaires after the weekend’s Saturday Gold Lotto draw reduced them to tears.
The self-described “battlers” held one of the 10 division one winning entries in Saturday Gold Lotto draw 4177 on Saturday 31 July 2021. They pocketed a $2 million prize.
When an official from The Lott spoke to the winning man this morning, he admitted confirmation of the windfall was enough to bring tears to his eyes.
“Oh god! Don’t make me cry again,” he laughed.
“I had enough tears when we found out.
“I’d gone to Bunnings yesterday, and I just thought I’d check my ticket on the way home.
“I couldn’t believe it. My wife didn’t believe me, even though I was crying when I called her. I told her they were happy tears.
“When she checked the ticket herself later, she went all light-headed and limp in the legs.
“We’ve worked hard all our lives. We’ve been battling for years looking after our family.
“I don’t think it’s really sunk in, but we’ll use this to pay off any bills and the rest we can sit on for when we retire.
“We’re going to use it wisely to help our kids and family.
“One thing I do wish, I wish my mum was alive so I could do something nice for her to pay her back for all the years putting up with me.”
The winning marked 18-game entry was purchased at Northside Plaza News, Shop 23, Northside Plaza, 222 Musgrave Street, North Rockhampton.
The winning numbers in Saturday Gold Lotto draw 4177 on 31 July 2021 were 32, 41, 13, 16, 33 and 18, while the supplementary numbers were 9 and 19.
Across Australia, there were 10 division one winning entries in Saturday Gold Lotto draw 4177 – four from New South Wales and two each from Victoria, Tasmania and Queensland.
The Lott’s division one winning tally has now reached 267 so far this calendar year, including 67 won by Golden Casket customers.
In 2020, Saturday Gold Lotto created 122 millionaires across Australia.
During this time, there were 312 division one winning in Saturday Gold Lotto entries across Australia, which collectively won more than $355.13 million.
