Five days after the draw, a Rosebud woman has had the shock of her life after routinely checking her lottery ticket and discovering she was the TattsLotto multi-millionaire officials had been searching for.
The Mornington Peninsula local held one of the two division one winning entries nationally in TattsLotto draw 4015, drawn Saturday 11 January 2020. Each entry took home a division one prize of $2,169,262.50.
Although the entry was registered to a Tatts Card, Tatts officials had been unable to contact the winner and deliver the life-changing news because her contact details were out of date.
Sharing her shock with a Tatts official, the woman confessed she was shaking as she took in the life-changing news.
“Thank you! Oh my god! I’ve got the shakes! I feel all hot and sweaty!” she laughed.
“I don’t know how to feel about becoming a multi-millionaire. I haven’t taken it all in just yet. It feels really good though!
“I had no idea I had won anything. I just checked my ticket at the outlet like I do every week.
“I’ve been playing the same numbers for nearly fifty years. I chose them at random years ago and I’ve just kept playing them ever since.
“I’ve never won anything like this before. I think the most I’ve ever won is $1,000!” When asked how she planned to enjoy life as a multi-millionaire, the winner revealed she was too overwhelmed to decide what to do with her windfall.
“I’m not sure at this stage how I’ll spend it, it’s still sinking in,” she confessed.
“Will probably go on a nice long trip or something. Somewhere cool maybe to escape this heat!
“I’ll probably share it with my family too but I want to take it all in first!
“I’m definitely going to go home and pop the bubbly though. There is a glass of champagne calling my name!”
The winning entry was purchased at Rosebud Plaza Lotto, K002 Rosebud Plaza Shopping Centre, McCombe Street, Rosebud.
Rosebud Plaza Lotto owner Stephen Hadler said he was thrilled his outlet had sold another division one winning entry.
“This is the fifth division one winning entry we’ve sold in six years!” he exclaimed.
“We are very excited, and we will be celebrating this milestone in-store and sharing the good news with our customers.
“We are sure they will be as excited as we are as many people think that we are the luckiest shop in the area.
“We are extremely happy our winner has been united with her prize. It was fantastic for her to discover it in-store with us!
“Seeing our customers realise their dreams is what it’s all about!”
