A mum from Ryde confessed her heart was “racing 100 miles an hour” from this morning’s shock revelation she was now more than $2.8 million richer from the weekend’s Saturday Lotto draw.
The overwhelmed winner held one of the seven division one winning entries across Australia in Saturday Lotto draw 3889 on 27 October 2018. Each entry takes home the division one prize of $2,857,142.86.
But the Sydney resident was oblivious to her good fortune until a NSW Lotteries official made contact with her this morning.
“Oh no! I’m going to have to sit down. Are you kidding me? Oh my gosh!” she exclaimed when the full extent of her win became known.
“Oh my god! You have made my day. This is the last call I was expecting today. I wish I could hug you.
“My heart is racing 100 miles an hour.
“I’ll have to call my husband to tell him.”
The woman admitted she almost didn’t buy her winning ticket, marked with her favourite numbers, but this morning she was glad she did.
With more than $2.8 million about to land in her bank account, she said couldn’t wait to share her prize with those at the top of her Lotto List – her adult children.
“I want to help out my children. That was always my dream – to help out the kids. And maybe go on another holiday!” she said. “More than $2.8 million should cover all the bases, and we can retire gracefully.”
The woman, who wishes to remain anonymous, purchased her marked 18-game entry at Coxs Road Newsagency, Shop 9, 203-213 Coxs Road, North Ryde.
