More than $5.6 million has landed in the Redlands following two division one wins in the weekend’s $20 million Saturday Gold Lotto Superdraw.

The Redlands’ winning entries included an entry from a hardworking Redlands couple who purchased their entry online at thelott.com, and a 20-share store syndicate from News Worx, Shop 28, 2–34 Bunker Road, Victoria Point.

The two Redlands entries were among the seven division one winning entries across Australia in Saturday Gold Lotto draw 3863 on 28 July 2018. Each entry won a division one prize of $2,857,142.86.

From dentist to division one for hardworking Redlands couple

A hardworking Redlands couple discovered this morning they were now Gold Lotto multi-millionaires – just after they returned from a check-up at the dentist.

The happy couple in their 40s purchased their 50-game QuickPick online at www.thelott.com but hadn’t checked it since the winning numbers were drawn.

“Oh my god!” the woman exclaimed.

“Are you kidding?! Holy sh**! I’ll just have to sit down I think,” her husband added.

“Oh Jesus! I don’t know what to say. I’m really sort of blank.

“I just bought this ticket on Friday night on the way home from work – I’m glad I did.  You just don’t expect to win and you just think I’ll check it next week.

“I’ve just been to the dentist this morning when you tried to call us. I was spewing because we had to pay about $100 for it!”

The couple shared they had a few initial thoughts on how they would use their Gold Lotto windfall, including some home renovations, changing jobs and an overseas family holiday.

“We can’t stop shaking. We’ve got to stop shaking first,” the winning woman laughed.

20-share News Worx syndicate wins division one

Members of the 20-share store syndicate from News Worx at Victoria Point have begun celebrating their entry’s Saturday Gold Lotto division one win.

In addition to winning division one, the News Worx syndicate’s System 11 QuickPick entry also won division three 30 times and division four 150 times, bolstering the syndicate’s total prize to $2,894,584.36.

Each share of the syndicate won a $144,739.80 prize.

News Worx owner Mitchell Matt was thrilled the store’s syndicate had won a division one prize.

“It’s out of the blue, really. But, I’ll take it!” he exclaimed.

“Three people came in yesterday – almost in tears. They were really happy!

“It’s really good. It’s a really big thing for them.

“They came in knowing they’d won, but not quite believing it.

“It was great to be able to confirm the news for them!” he explained.

“One customer came in with a bottle of Moët & Chandon to say thank you for selling them the syndicate ticket.

“It really is quite exciting for everyone!”

While Mr Matt was on the phone with Golden Casket another customer learned of their division one windfall in-store – with jubilant cries heard in the background of the call.

As the customer bought two shares in the syndicate, they are seemingly twice as happy, taking home double the prize.

Golden Casket spokesperson Matt Hart said some News Worx syndicate members held unregistered entries and may have yet to discover their winning news.

“While we’ll be reaching out to those syndicate members who registered their entry to their Winners Circle cards, there are several syndicate members who have unregistered entries and may not yet know they’re part of this winning group.

“If you purchased a share in News Worx’s syndicate for the weekend’s Saturday Gold Lotto Superdraw, today’s the day to check it!

“If you discover you’re holding a winning share, call Golden Casket on 131 868 to start the prize claim process!”
