Seaford man proves the apple doesn’t fall far from the tree with $50,000 Keno win

A Seaford man has followed in the footsteps of his father by also scoring a major lottery prize – this time a $50,000 Keno win.

The South Australian scored the Spot 8 winning entry in draw 240708 919, drawn Monday 8 July 2024 and looks forward to $50,000.

“Oh, I’ve just been over the moon for the last 24 hours,” he laughed when speaking to lottery officials.

“I always play the same numbers in Keno and I’m glad I’ve persisted!

“Surprisingly, my dad won a major lottery prize in 1980, which was 44 years ago – maybe it runs in the family!

“I raced straight to the newsagency to confirm if I had won, and the team member told me to claim the prize at The Lott headquarters.

“It’s so exciting.

“I’m not too sure what I’ll do with the prize, but I’ll probably help my daughter out.”

His winning entry was purchased at Seaford Lotteries Kiosk, K6, Seaford Shopping Centre, 108 Commercial Road, Seaford.

The Seaford Lotteries Kiosk team were pleased to have sold another major lottery prize and wished their local winner all the best with their future endeavours.

In 2023, there were more than 1.52 million Keno wins across South Australia worth more than $87.5 million.  This included 33 Keno Spot 8, 9 and 10 winners across South Australia who scored more than $7.44 million.

The Spot 10 prize was won three times during this period, including a $2.3 million prize.

Keno is a game whereby 20 numbers are randomly generated from a possible 80. To win a Keno Spot 10 prize, a player must match all 10 of the numbers selected on their ticket against the 20 numbers drawn.
