A Warrnambool resident has become the second local to score a top prize win on an Instant Scratch-Its ticket this month after scratching one of the top prizes of $100,000 on a $5 Bank Vault Instant Scratch-Its ticket.
The winning ticket was purchased at Norfolk Lotto, Shop 4-5 Norfolk Plaza, Warrnambool.
How the winner plans to enjoy their windfall, or if they will keep it locked in the vault, will forever remain a mystery as they have chosen to stay completely anonymous and count their cash in private.
Norfolk Lotto owner Rhonda Welsh said she was thrilled another customer had scored a top prize win at her outlet.
“This is the second top prize winning Instant Scratch-Its ticket we’ve sold!” she exclaimed.
“We’ve been here for 13 years and have sold a few division one prizes too but we are on a bit of a winning streak for scratchie top prizes.
“The last one was for $100,000 as well so we are very pleased we’ve sold such a big prize again.
“We’ve been telling all our customers it’s the second time we’ve sold a big one and they are all really excited for us.
“Hopefully we sell a third top prize soon!
“Congratulations to our winner. We wish them all the best with their win!”
It is the second top prize-winning Instant Scratch-Its ticket to land in Warrnambool in January after a local man scored $10,000 on a $1 Instant Scratch-Its ticket he received as a gift earlier this month.
His ticket was purchased at Reinheimers Newsagency & Lotto.
In 2019, there were 114 Instant Scratch-Its top prize winners across the Lott’s jurisdictions who collectively took home more than $9.61 million in top prizes.
During this same time, Instant Scratch-Its players enjoyed more than 27.1 million wins across all prize tiers worth more than $208.8 million. This equates to more than half a million dollars won on Instant Scratch-Its every day.
