A Semaphore man has confessed he could’t believe his eyes when he scratched one of the top prizes on a $10 Instant Scratch-Its ticket.
The winning ticket was purchased at Station Arcarde Newsagency and Lotteries, Shop 16, 136 North Terrace, Adelaide.
Speaking to an SA Lotteries official this afternoon, the stoked bloke confessed he was still trying to get his head around his $250,000 instant windfall.
“I still can’t believe I’ve won!” he exclaimed.
“I usually grab an Instant Scratch-Its now and then when I stop into the newsagency near my work.
“I always have a look to see what is available and if I haven’t tried it before I give it a go.
“I hadn’t tried the ticket yet so I thought I’d try my luck.
“I was standing in the newsagency when I saw I had won. I couldn’t believe it!
“I’m extremely happy!”
When asked how he planned to enjoy his instant windfall, the hardworking professional said it would go a long way to paying off his mortgage.
“The prize will probably go straight to paying off the mortgage!” he declared.
“It will feel good to be closer to being debt free and have a bit of weight off my shoulders.
“I’m still trying to let it all sink in but there might be something fun for me down the track!”
Station Arcade Newsagency and Lotteries owner Chia Law said she was thrilled her outlet had sold it’s first major prize.
“We are quite a new outlet and so we are thrilled to have sold our largest prize ever!” she exclaimed.
“It’s so exciting! It’s just so cool to know one of our customers is now $250,000 richer.
“We are so happy for them and will be telling all of our customers we’ve sold a big one.
“Congratulations to our winner! We wish him all the best!”
Between 1 July 2018 and 30 June 2019, there were 118 Instant Scratch-Its top prize winners across the Lott’s jurisdictions who collectively took home more than $12.14 million in top prizes.
