A Williamstown man in his early 20s may be in the running for the title of ‘Son of the Year’ after declaring he plans to share his million-dollar Monday & Wednesday Lotto prize with his parents.
The startled Victorian winner held one of the three division one winning entries in Monday & Wednesday Lotto draw 3807 on Wednesday 10 October 2018. Each entry takes home a guaranteed division one prize of $1 million.
The young man was oblivious to his good fortune until a Tatts official made contact with him.
“Wow!” he laughed when his win was confirmed.
“I just logged into the Lott app and saw I’d won.
“I’m only in my 20s so this is huge! I can’t believe it!
“I’ve only just started playing Lotto. I was bored one day and thought I’d give it a go. This is only the fourth ticket I’ve ever got.”
The new Melbourne millionaire explained he already knew how he would use some of his windfall – sharing it with his parents, who were at the top of his Lotto List.
“I’m going to help my parents pay off their mortgage. They’ve done a lot for me over the years – they’ve sacrificed a lot.
“And in terms of the rest, it’ll be wherever the road takes me!”
The man, who wishes to remain anonymous, purchased his winning 12-game QuickPick entry online at thelott.com – Australia’s official lotteries.
