South Australia sparkled with two division one X Lotto wins on the weekend, with a Gawler man celebrating his good fortune with a cup of tea, while a Murray Bridge player may have yet to realise their life-changing win.
The two players were among the 11 division one winners nationally in Saturday X Lotto draw 4655 on Saturday 28 February 2026. Each division one winner pocketed $585,849.02.
Four decades faithful: Long-held numbers deliver X Lotto win to Gawler man
A Gawler man who has played the same X Lotto numbers since the 1980s has celebrated his $585,000 win in the weekend’s draw with a cup of tea.
“Oh goodness – is this real?” he exclaimed when an official from The Lott revealed his prize.
“I was just finishing reading the paper when the phone rang. Oh boy!
“I’ve had those numbers for about 40 years, and I’ve been playing for years and years – probably close to 50 years.
“They’re just numbers based around the family – birthdays and things like that.
“I’ve had a few tiny wins over the years, but this is the real one.”
“I’m shaking!” his happy wife shouted in the background.
The South Australian man shared the timing of the win couldn’t be more special, with a milestone birthday just around the corner.
“You couldn’t ask for a better birthday present!” he laughed.
“I’ll have to go and have a cup of tea. My mother always said if you get a shock, go and have a cup of tea.
“I don’t know exactly what we’ll do with the prize just yet, but the kids will certainly benefit.
“Thanks for the call! This is unbelievable!”
The winning man purchased his winning marked 14-game entry at Gawler Newsagency, 68 Murray Street, Gawler.
Gawler Newsagency manager Kiarna Haycock said it was the second division one win for her outlet during the past three years.
“It’s very exciting! Our last one was in 2023,” she said.
“It’s a very happy feeling knowing you sold a division one winning ticket to someone at your outlet. It’s a big moment for us.
“We wish our winning customer all the best with their prize.”
Ring! Ring!: Calls to Murray Bridge’s X Lotto winner go unanswered
A Murray Bridge shopper is starting the week with a X Lotto division one win – they just might not know it yet.
Although the entry was registered to The Lott Members Club, officials from The Lott have been unable to make contact with the winner on the details provided to deliver the life-changing news.
The winning entry was purchased at Drakes Murray Bridge, Shop 5, Murray Bridge Green Shopping Centre, 3-15 Swanport Road, Murray Bridge.
The Lott spokesperson Matt Hart said repeated phone calls to the elusive Murray Bridge winner had gone unanswered.
“If you see a number of missed calls on your phone, you could be the X Lotto winner we’re trying to contact,” he said.
“You may not think it’s possible you’re the division one winner we’re searching for, but if you purchased an entry into the weekend’s X Lotto draw from Drakes Murray Bridge that you haven’t checked yet, you’re in with a chance!
“We’re urging all X Lotto players in the region to check their tickets as soon as possible.
“If you discover you are holding the division one winning ticket to contact The Lott on 131 868 to begin the process of claiming your prize.”
The winning numbers in Saturday X Lotto draw 4655 on 28 February 2026 were 21, 13, 44, 31, 7 and 35, while the supplementary numbers were 30 and 34.
