A trio of workmates from south western Queensland has begun making plans for their share of their Saturday Gold Lotto windfall worth more than $444,000.

The private syndicate held one of the nine division one winning entries across Australia in Saturday Gold Lotto draw 3865 on 4 August 2018. Each entry took home a division one prize of $444,985.88.

The winning entry is not registered to a Winners Circle Card which meant Golden Casket officials had no way of contacting the winner to break the life-changing news.

Despite word quickly spreading around Charleville last week that a Gold Lotto win had landed in town, the syndicate leader confessed she didn’t check their winning entry until almost a week after the winning numbers were drawn.

“I’m still gobsmacked!” the woman declared when speaking with a Golden Casket official.

“I can’t even believe we’ve won. I’ve just been kicked in the arse all my life!

“It took the store about 30 minutes to convince me I did win it, but I won’t believe it until the money’s there.

“Everyone’s been racing around checking their tickets. I didn’t know anyone in town had won that sort of money!

“There’s three of us in it. We’ve only been playing it for a month.

“We were just having a drink after work at the pub and talking about numbers.  We thought they sounded like Lotto numbers so we decided to play them for a month!

“Lo and behold we won!  That’s a couple of years’ wages each when you think about it.”

The syndicate leader confirmed she had already alerted the other two syndicate members to their good fortune.

“I was crying and I rang each one. They said ‘don’t be f***ing stupid, you’re having a go at us’. They thought I’d stopped putting our numbers in!”

The winning trio already have some plans for how they will use their Gold Lotto win, including home deposits and holidays.

“Since I was young I’ve always wanted to go on an island holiday and I think if I don’t do it now I won’t do it,” the syndicate leader shared.

The winning entry was purchased at Charleville Newsagency, 67 Alfred Street, Charleville.

Charleville Newsagency owner Jenny Hallam said she was happy to see the winner united with their prize.

“It’s been very exciting! Word quickly spread around town – it doesn’t take long here,” she said.

“We’ve haven’t had a division one win for a few years so it’s great to have a one again.”

So far this calendar year, Monday & Wednesday Gold Lotto and Saturday Gold Lotto have created 115 millionaires across Australia.

The six winning numbers in Saturday Gold Lotto draw 3865 on Saturday 4 August 2018 were 25, 38, 24, 35, 12 and 14.  The supplementary numbers were 36 and 39.
