A Speers Point family man working from home has answered a once-in-a-lifetime phone call revealing his $100,000 windfall in the latest Lucky Lotteries Super Jackpot draw.
The Greater Newcastle resident held the 1st Prize-winning entry in Lucky Lotteries Super Jackpot draw 10484, drawn Wednesday 18 August 2021.
Straight after the draw, an official from The Lott called the stoked bloke, who was left dumbfounded by the life-enhancing news.
“Oh my, you’re kidding! I’m freaking out here,” he happily yelled.
“I’m just about ready to quit my job! I’m shaking.
“I’m freaking out here. I actually know three other people who won a similar prize, and now it’s happening to me!
“I just told my wife and two daughters. One of the daughters is jumping up and down. My wife is screaming, and my other daughter is on FaceTime. This is unreal.
‘I’m working from home, and I was so close to not answering your call. I thought to myself, ‘why not?’. I’m so thankful I did.
“My heart’s pounding! Thank you so much.”
When asked how he planned to enjoy his prize, the father said he would spend his winnings on a new set of wheels.
“I’m probably going to purchase a new car. Maybe one of those American semi-trailer trucks,” he shared.
“I’m going to celebrate right this instant. I’m going to reach for a beer right now.”
The joyful winner, who wishes to remain anonymous, purchased his winning entry of one random number online at thelott.com – Australia’s official lotteries.
The Lucky Lotteries Mega Jackpot prize is now $2.68 million for draw 1542, while the Lucky Lotteries Super Jackpot prize is now $1.8 million for draw 10485.
