A Speers Point man has revealed he is still not thinking straight after discovering he is now a millionaire after winning division one in Monday Lotto.
The entry was the only division one winning entry across Australia in Monday & Wednesday Lotto draw 3818 on Monday 19 November 2018. The shocked winner takes home the guaranteed division one prize of $1 million.
Speaking to an NSW Lotteries official this morning to confirm his win, the happy man revealed he was originally suspicious of the phone call bearing the winning news.
“I thought you were calling to sell me something!” he laughed.
“This is amazing! Completely unexpected!
“I’m still not thinking straight!”
When asked how he planned to spend his Monday Lotto windfall, the stoked bloke revealed he was still mulling it over.
“It’s only just sort of sunk in!” he declared.
“I need a new home so it will go a long way in getting me one of those!”
The regular player, who wishes to remain anonymous, purchased his winning entry at Speers Point Newsagency, 178 Main Road, Speers Point.
Speers Point Newsagency owner Jan Ashworth said she was thrilled her outlet had sold another major prize.
“It’s the first division one winning entry we’ve sold since we took over the newsagency,” she explained.
“We’ve sold a few division two winning entries and a couple of Lucky Lotteries 1st Prizes, but it’s great to sell a division one.
“We are so happy for our winner. It’s fantastic it was won by a local to the area. It’s really good for the area.
“We wish them all the best with their prize!”
So far this calendar year, Monday & Wednesday Lotto and Saturday Lotto have created 160 millionaires across Australia.
The winning numbers in Monday & Wednesday Lotto draw 3818 on Monday 19 November 2018 were 8, 23, 24, 16, 15 and 19, while the supplementary numbers were 27 and 21.
Across Australia, there was only one division one winning entry in Monday & Wednesday Lotto draw 3818.
The Lott’s division one winning tally has now reached 151 so far this financial year, including 48 won by NSW Lotteries customers.
In the 12 months to 30 June 2018, there were 73 division one winning Monday & Wednesday Lotto entries across the Lott’s jurisdictions, which collectively won $73 million.
