A Springvale shopper’s world play has scored them one of the top prizes of $100,000 on a $5 Crosswords Instant Scratch-its ticket.
The top prize winning ticket was purchased at 18 Lucky Lotto, Shop G18B, Springvale Shopping Centre, 46-58 Buckingham Ave, Springvale.
However how the winner plans to enjoy their instant windfall will forever remain a mystery as they have chosen to stay completely anonymous and celebrate in private.
18 Lucky Lotto owner Raymond Van said he was happy to hear one of his outlet’s customers had scored the $100,000 prize.
“We are so excited to have sold a winning ticket in the lead up to Chinese New Year!” he exclaimed.
“We have been celebrating the New Year in store all week and this will just add to those celebrations.
“The last time we sold a top prize winning Instant Scratch-Its was a few years ago so we are thrilled.
“We wish them a very happy Chinese New Year and hope their luck continues!”
The Lott spokesperson Bronwyn Spencer said that Crossword Instant Scratch-Its tickets were a firm favourite with players across the country.
“Our players tell us that they love scratching our $5 Crosswords tickets because of the long-play format of the game and fun word-play,” she said.
“While we may not know how our winner plans to enjoy their windfall of $100,000, we do know they would have enjoyed revealing each letter that spelled out their massive win.
“Other winners have used their windfall to buy a new car, go on a long-overdue holiday and splurge on a nice dinner with family and friends.
“Whatever they do with it, we’re sure it will make their 2021 bigger and brighter!”
In 2020, there were 177 Instant Scratch-Its top prize winners across The Lott’s jurisdictions who collectively took home more than $16 million in top prizes.
