A Stafford player has had a weekend he’ll never forget, discovering he won more than $1 million in last week’s Wednesday Gold Lotto draw.
The Brisbane resident held one of the three division one winning entries nationally in Monday & Wednesday Gold Lotto draw 3863, drawn Wednesday 24 April 2019. Each winning entry took home a division one prize of $1,000,000.
However, how the region’s newest millionaire plans to spend their Wednesday Gold Lotto windfall will forever remain a mystery as they have chosen to remain completely anonymous and celebrate in private.
The winning entry was purchased at Stafford Newsagency, 267 Stafford Road, Stafford.
Stafford Newsagency team member Jenny Latchford said she planned to celebrate the division one win landing in her outlet with healthy doses of “balloons and bragging”.
“When I first heard we’d sold a division one winning entry, I thought ‘you beauty!’,” she laughed.
“Our customers will be thrilled, and maybe a little envious when they hear someone’s won the big one.
“We are in the dream business and it’s great to see when they come true.”
Golden Casket spokesperson Lauren Cooney said while we might never know how the Stafford shopper planned to spend their Golden Casket windfall, we were sure it would be a great kick-start to their week.
“We can only imagine the excitement this player must be feeling today as they discovered their incredible fortune!” she exclaimed.
“No doubt our winner’s plans for the year will change when their bank account balloons by more than $1 million!
“In the past other winners tell us they love to share their windfall with their family, go on overseas holidays, pay off their mortgage or buy a new home.
“However our winner chooses to enjoy their windfall we are sure it has changed their lives forever!”

The winning numbers in Monday & Wednesday Gold Lotto draw 3863 on Wednesday 24 April 2019 were 35, 6, 21, 44, 28 and 11, while the supplementary numbers were 27 and 17.
