A hard-working Stanthorpe man has experienced an explosion of happiness after discovering he won more than $100,000 in yesterday’s Lucky Lotteries draw.

The Sunshine State local held the 1st Prize winning entry in Lucky Lotteries Super Jackpot draw 10870, drawn Tuesday 27 August 2024. He also snagged a consolation prize boosting his total prize to $102,000.

The winning man was completely oblivious to his newfound treasure until he received a phone call from an official from The Lott.

“Oh my goodness!” the winning man exclaimed.

“This is amazing news!

“I’ve had a rough couple of years, so this news has come at a great time.

“I dabble in a variety of different lottery games but have always had a soft spot for Lucky Lotteries.

“I guess today is my lucky day!

“I can’t wait to share the news with my family, they’re all going to be so happy.

“This will help us with all the small things we’ve been wanting to do.

“We’re due for some renovations and new home appliances.

“It would also be lovely to take my family on an interstate holiday.

“I feel so happy. I feel like I might explode!”

The man’s winning entry of 10 consecutive numbers was purchased at Stanthorpe Plaza Newsagency, 128 High Street, Stanthorpe.

Stanthorpe Plaza Newsagency co-owner Louise Bentley said she was super excited to hear her outlet had sold a 1st Prize winning entry.

“We will be putting up some balloons and banners in-store to highlight this achievement,” she said.

“We’re so happy to have been able to change someone’s life forever.

“All the best to our winner and we hope all their dreams come true.”

The Lucky Lotteries Mega Jackpot prize is now $1.96 million for draw 1686, while the Lucky Lotteries Super Jackpot prize is now over $4 million for draw 1686.

In FY24, 147 Lucky Lotteries 1st Prize and Jackpot winning entries across Australia won more than $53.4 million.

Lucky Lotteries Super Jackpot and Lucky Lotteries Mega Jackpot are raffle-style games, which means there is a set number of tickets in each draw. As each ticket number is unique there is no sharing of prizes.

Each game has two draws – one that determines the winning numbers and one that determines the jackpot number. If the jackpot number matches one of the winning numbers, then the Jackpot Prize is won. If the jackpot number does not match one of the winning numbers, the Jackpot Prize will climb for the next draw.

Tickets can be purchased at any licenced lottery outlet, online from thelott.com or via The Lott mobile app.

The official home of Australia’s lotteries, The Lott operates and markets Australia’s leading lottery games customers know and love creating everyday winners, winning every day.
