A Sunshine Coast man is counting his lucky stars after discovering he’d bagged more than $700,000 in the weekend’s Saturday Gold Lotto draw.
The Queenslander held one of the seven division one winning entries in Saturday Lotto draw 4299, drawn Saturday 1 October 2022 and took home a division one prize of $733,492.92.
In addition to winning division one, the winner’s System 8 entry also scored division two 6 times, division three 6 times and division four 15 times, bolstering his total windfall to $794,933.52.
When an official from The Lott made contact with the winning man, he was oblivious to his good fortune.
“Oh my goodness, are you serious?!” he exclaimed.
“I’m out and about at the moment, and this news has almost put me on the floor!
“What a shock!
“It definitely opens up a number of opportunities for my family.
“Honestly, I’m not sure what I’ll do with the prize yet.
“I think I’ll have to let this sink in first to really appreciate what’s happened.
“I always play the same numbers – they’re family birthdays and other special numbers. Looks like my special numbers came through for me at last!”
The winning man’s marked System 8 entry was purchased online at thelott.com – the official home of Australia’s lotteries.
The winning numbers in Saturday Gold Lotto draw 4299 on 1 October 2022 were 40, 25, 32, 20, 30 and 9, while the supplementary numbers were 34 and 35.
Across Australia, there were seven division one winning entries in Saturday Gold Lotto draw 4299 – three each in Queensland and New South Wales, and one in South Australia.
The Lott’s division one winning tally has now reached 340 so far this calendar year, including 79 won by Golden Casket customers.
In FY22, Saturday Gold Lotto created 196 millionaires across Australia.
During this time, there were 324 division one winning in Saturday Gold Lotto entries across Australia that collectively won more than $461.69 million.
