A Surrey Hills man has declared 2025 will be a very happy new year for him and his family after realising he didn’t win $150,000 in the weekend’s TattsLotto draw, but $2.1 million instead.
The Melburnian held one of the 14 division one winning entries in TattsLotto draw 4535 on Saturday 4 January 2025. Each division one winning entry scored $2,142,857.15.
“Oh my god! Oh my god! I knew I had won something but thought it would be $150,000 or something like that,” the happy winner exclaimed.
“Two point one million dollars!?! Happy New Year to us!
“We had a sh** of a year last year. It’s all good this year and even better now!
“You’re wonderful! I could kiss you! This is unbelievable.
“When I saw the numbers from last night’s draw, I recognised them immediately because I’ve been playing them for so long.
“I’ve been using those numbers for 40 years. It was my old phone number plus my birthday. I’ve been saying to myself recently that they’ll come up someday.
“This just means the world to us. We’ll be able to set ourselves up and help our family. It’s just wonderful.”
The man’s winning marked 10-game entry was purchased on The Lott website – the official home of Australia’s lotteries.
The winning numbers in TattsLotto draw 4535 on 4 January 2025 were 33, 19, 8, 23, 10 and 31, while the supplementary numbers were 42 and 13.
Across Australia, there were 14 division one winning entries in TattsLotto draw 4535 – six each in New South Wales and Victoria and two in Queensland.
