A Sussex Inlet man had to calm his mum who nearly had a ‘heart attack’ from excitement after he casually dropped the news that he’d just won a cool $1 million in last night’s Weekday Windfall draw.
The New South Welshman held one of the two division one winning entries in Weekday Windfall draw 4444, drawn Wednesday 18 September 2024 and looks forward to a total $1 million.
“I can’t believe it,” he laughed.
“I had no idea; I woke up this morning and saw I had an email that I’d won a major lottery prize, but it didn’t let me know how much.
“I closed my eyes and said to myself, ‘I hope it’s more than $10!’.
“My mum quickly looked up the winning numbers and she was dumbfounded.
“I had to quickly calm her down because I thought she was going to have a heart attack!
“I’ve had to give up work for personal reasons, so this will help me so much.
“I’ll be going to see my parents tonight to celebrate. We’ll have to enjoy a nice meal!”
With a life-enhancing $1 million about to be deposited into his bank account, the newly-minted millionaire shared he couldn’t wait to pay off his mortgage.
“I’ll be paying off the mortgage and some bills for sure,” he said.
“Thank you so very much.”
His winning marked 10-game entry was purchased at Inlet Newsagency, Shop 5, 172 Jacobs Drive, Sussex Inlet.
Inlet Newsagency owner Dimitrios Spyrakis shared his outlet were super excited to hear it sold one of the two division one winning entries nationally in last night’s draw.
“It’s really great. So excited for the winner, and its great news for the local Sussex Inlet community!” he said.
“We sold a division one winning entry in Oz Lotto worth $15 million a few years ago, and it’s so great to see another one come our way!

The winning numbers in Weekday Windfall draw 4444 on Wednesday 18 September 2024 were 4, 2, 30, 23, 18, 24, while the supplementary numbers were 26 and 40.
Across Australia, there were two division one winning entries in Weekday Windfall draw 4444 – one each in New South Wales and Victoria.
