A Sutherland mum is looking forward to a family holiday they’ll never forget after unwrapping a $150,000 Instant Scratch-Its prize on Boxing Day.
The top prize winning $10 Countdown to Christmas Instant Scratch-Its ticket was purchased at Sutherland Newsagency, 796 Old Princes Highway, Sutherland.
“It’s very exciting. We actually think we bought some Instant Scratch-Its tickets a couple of weeks ago but stuck them to one side and forgot about them,” the winning mum explained.
“But then on Boxing Day, we found them again, and I said, ‘give me one, and I’ll scratch it’.
“We joked that maybe one would have a big prize. Then when I scratched it, we all fell apart.
“It made for a very nice Boxing Day. This is just the cream on the top of a great Christmas.
“We’ll probably use the prize to have a luxurious family holiday. It’s been a long time since we’ve had one, and long overdue.
“It would be lovely to think this win is the start of lots of good things for us in 2022.”
In FY21, there were 176 Instant Scratch-Its top prize winners across The Lott’s jurisdictions who collectively took home more than $14.17 million in top prizes.
During this same time, Instant Scratch-Its players enjoyed more than 31.2 million wins across all prize tiers worth more than $274.31 million. This equates to more than $750,000 won on Instant Scratch-Its every day.
