A Sutherland shopper has just discovered their new millionaire status after finally realising they won $1 million in Monday & Wednesday Lotto almost a week ago.
The southern Sydney winner held one of the four division one winning entries nationally in Monday & Wednesday Lotto draw 3855, drawn Wednesday 27 March 2019, taking home the guaranteed division one prize of $1 million.
However, how the newly minted millionaire plans to spend their Saturday Lotto windfall will forever remain a mystery as they have chosen to remain completely anonymous and celebrate in private.
The winning seven-game marked entry was purchased at Sutherland Newsagency, 796 Old Princes Highway, Sutherland.
Sutherland Newsagency owner Jessie Sellar said it was an incredible feeling to know she’d changed someone’s life.
“We are all so excited!” she exclaimed.
“The win has created such a buzz amongst our customers who are all hoping to be the next millionaire.
“It’s been a little while since we last sold a division one winning entry so we are really celebrating this exciting milestone!”
NSW Lotteries spokesperson Lauren Cooney said while we may never know how the Sutherland shopper planned to spend their prize we are sure it has changed their life.
“What better way to start the week than by discovering you are now millionaire!” she exclaimed.
“No doubt our winner’s plans for the year will change when their bank account balloons by a few more zeros!
“Other winners tell us they love to share their windfall with their families, go on overseas holidays, pay off their mortgages or buy a new home.
“However our winner chooses to enjoy their windfall we are sure it has changed their lives forever!”
In 2018, Monday & Wednesday Lotto and Saturday Lotto created 194 millionaires across Australia.
The winning numbers in Monday & Wednesday Lotto draw 3855 on Wednesday 27 March 2019 were 6, 14, 20, 18, 25 and 5, while the supplementary numbers were 35 and 41.
Across Australia, there were four division one winning entries in Monday & Wednesday Lotto draw 3855.
The Lott’s division one winning tally has now reached 89 so far this calendar year, including 21 won by NSW Lotteries customers.
In the 12 months to 31 December 2018, there were 69 division one winning Monday & Wednesday Lotto entries across the Lott’s jurisdictions, which collectively won $62 million.
