A Tahmoor man has revealed he’s absolutely “gobsmacked” after winning division one in last night’s Monday & Wednesday Lotto draw.
The happy man’s ticket was one of two division one winning entries across Australia in Monday & Wednesday Lotto draw 3822, drawn Monday 3 December 2018. Both entries, from New South Wales, took home the guaranteed $1 million.
Not only did the Tahmoor man win the guaranteed division one prize of $1,000,000, his entry also won in multiple other divisions, ramping up his total prize to $1,003,679.50.
Sharing his joy with a NSW Lotteries official this morning to confirm the win, the man revealed he couldn’t believe his luck.
“I went to the paper shop this morning and the girl up there said ‘someone has won $1 million’ and I said to her there’s no way it would be me!” he explained.
“So I checked my ticket and lo and behold, it was me!
“I was shocked, I was absolutely gobsmacked.
“I’m very, very excited.”
The New South Wales resident said he’s been playing Lotto since day dot but never imagined becoming a millionaire.
“I never thought it would be me,” he said.
“We’re really, really happy.”
“I’m just gobsmacked.”
The hardworking man plans to use the prize to set his family up for the future and take them on a holiday to celebrate.
“I think this Christmas will be extra special for my family,” he laughed.
The regular player, who to remain anonymous, purchased his winning marked System 7 entry at Tahmoor Newsagency, Shop 2/119 Remembrance Drive, Tahmoor.
Tahmoor Newsagency manager, Jeanette Cook said she was beside herself with excitement.
“It’s been a few years since we’ve sold a division one winning entry, we are just so happy!” she rejoiced.
“It’s the absolute best feeling to see one of our regular customers win such a deserving prize.”
So far this calendar year, Monday & Wednesday Lotto and Saturday Lotto have created 171 millionaires across Australia.
The winning numbers in Monday & Wednesday Lotto draw 3822 on Monday 3 December 2018 were 22, 40, 7, 44, 42 and 36, while the supplementary numbers were 31 and 37.
Across Australia, there were only two division one winning entries in Monday & Wednesday Lotto draw 3822.
The Lott’s division one winning tally has now reached 164 so far this financial year, including 52 won by NSW Lotteries customers.
In the 12 months to 30 June 2018, there were 73 division one winning Monday & Wednesday Lotto entries across the Lott’s jurisdictions, which collectively won $73 million.
