A Tamworth couple burst into tears of joy after discovering they won $200,000 earlier this week.
The New South Wales players won the guaranteed 1st Prize of $200,000 in Lucky Lotteries Mega Jackpot draw 1335, drawn Monday 3 June 2019.
Confirming their win with a NSW Lotteries official this morning, the husband and wife were overwhelmed with emotion when they made their discovery.
“That’s great! Thank you very much!” they said.
“We’re very emotional!
“We just went down to the newsagency and checked our ticket! We had no idea!
“We’re so shocked! But this is really great!
“It’s very exciting! This is wonderful, absolutely wonderful!
“I think I’d be dead if it was that jackpot prize!”
The couple revealed they’ve been playing Lucky Lotteries Mega Jackpot regularly and will enjoy every moment of their prize.
“We have a holiday booked for later this month so this prize will definitely come in handy! It’s come at the perfect time!” the woman said.
“I think we’ll be having a pretty good holiday, it will be a great celebration!
“We’ll be able to pay off the mortgage and it will certainly make things easier, that’s for sure!”
The couple, who wish to remain anonymous, purchased their winning entry of one random number at Country Capital Newsagency, 289 Peel Street, Tamworth.
Country Capital Newsagency owner Jenny Andrews said the outlet had sold plenty of major prizes over the years.
“It’s so great to have sold this ticket to two of our regular customers. It’s been very emotional!” she said.
“They are such a deserving couple so we really couldn’t be more excited for them.”
The Lucky Lotteries Mega Jackpot prize is now $70.36 million for draw 1340 while the Lucky Lotteries Super Jackpot is now $1.54 million for draw 10293.
