A Tamworth man’s smoko break quickly turned from ordinary to extraordinary when he scratched a $100,000 prize on his Instant Scratch-Its ticket.
The top prize winning $5 Crosswords ticket was purchased at Shoppingworld Newsagency, Shop 18, Tamworth Shoppingworld, Bridge Street & Denne Street, Tamworth.
Sharing his joy with an official from The Lott this morning, the tradie explained he was still struggling to comprehend the exciting news.
“I went to my local shopping centre to grab some smoko,” he explained.
“I got myself a couple of scratchies while I was there and sat down to scratch them.
“Lo and behold, I had all the words! I couldn’t believe it.
“I re-checked the ticket about 50 times.
“It felt so good to have a win!”
With $100,000 about to hit his bank account, the stoked bloke had plenty of ways he thought he might enjoy his prize.
“I’m going to put it towards a house deposit,” he declared.
“I’ll be able to help some family out and get myself some new tools.
“It will be absolutely life-changing for me!”
In FY21, there were 176 Instant Scratch-Its top prize winners across The Lott’s jurisdictions who collectively took home more than $14.17 million in top prizes.
