A down-to-earth Taree grandfather who has endured tough times after the floods was overjoyed to discover he’d won $100,000 in a recent Lucky Lotteries draw, giving him the chance to surprise his family with a Christmas they’ll never forget.

The Mid North Coast resident held the 1st prize winning entry in Lucky Lotteries Super Jackpot draw 11045 drawn Tuesday 28 October 2025 and looks forward to a clean $100,000 prize.

“I’m feeling extra good today!” he said when speaking with an official from The Lott.

“I had no idea I’d won anything until I checked my ticket through the app. It was a beautiful moment!

“I tend to buy a couple of Lucky Lotteries tickets when I do my weekly grocery shop, but I never expected I’d win the big prize.

“It’s been tough here ever since the community floods, so it’ll be a great boost to the bank account.

“It’s great timing heading into Christmas. I’ll be able to give my family a Christmas they won’t see coming.

“I’m not sure what I’ll do with the prize just yet, but one thing’s for certain, my grandkids are going to be spoilt rotten.”

His winning entry of four consecutive numbers was purchased at Taree Lotto, K2, Manning Mall, 81 Manning Street, Taree.

Taree Lotto owner Karen du Preez shared she was excited to hear her team had sold a 1st Prize winning entry worth $100,000.

“We’re thrilled to know we sold a 1st Prize winning entry to a lovely local customer that has been consistently supporting our small business!” she said.

“We can’t wait to spread the life-changing news with everyone in the local community.

“Better yet, this is the second 1st Prize winning ticket we’ve sold this year and we feel like we could be on a winning streak.

“A big congratulations to our special winner! We hope this makes all your dreams come true.”

The Lucky Lotteries Mega Jackpot prize is now $15.52 million for draw 1730, while the Lucky Lotteries Super Jackpot prize is now $1.28 million for draw 11046.

In FY25, 182 Lucky Lotteries 1st Prize and Jackpot Prize winning entries across Australia won more than $20.5 million.

Lucky Lotteries Super Jackpot and Lucky Lotteries Mega Jackpot are raffle-style games, which means there is a set number of tickets in each draw. As each ticket number is unique there is no sharing of prizes.

Each game has two draws – one that determines the winning numbers and one that determines the jackpot number. If the jackpot number matches one of the winning numbers, then the Jackpot Prize is won. If the jackpot number does not match one of the winning numbers, the Jackpot Prize will climb for the next draw.

Tickets can be purchased at any licenced lottery outlet, online from thelott.com or via The Lott mobile app.

The official home of Australia’s lotteries, The Lott operates and markets Australia’s leading lottery games customers know and love creating everyday winners, winning every day.

In FY25, more than 123.8 million winners took home more than $4.1 billion in prize money from their favourite games at The Lott, including Saturday Lotto, Weekday Windfall, Powerball, Oz Lotto, Set for Life, Lucky Lotteries, Keno (SA), Super 66, Lotto Strike and Instant Scratch-Its.

Last financial year, Australia’s official lotteries contributed more than $1.66 billion via state lottery taxes and donations to help community initiatives, such as hospitals, health research, disaster relief and education.  As part of its commitment to supporting the community, The Lott proudly supports Play For Purpose, the not-for-profit charity raffle that gives Australians the chance to win while helping more than 500 causes across the country.
