A Kurri Kurri man has discovered a major lottery win can come with unusual side effects after his $1 million Weekday Windfall bounty left him feeling queasy.
The New South Wales man held the only division one winning entry nationally in Weekday Windfall draw 4504, drawn Wednesday 5 February 2025. He can look forward to a clean $1 million.
When an official from The Lott called with the life-changing news, the ecstatic winner shared he’d been playing the same numbers for decades.
“I’m feeling sick with excitement,” he said.
“I’ve been playing forever, and I’ve always used the same numbers since I started.
“I can’t quite remember the significance of them all anymore, it was so long ago. I know there are some birthdays, special events, the kid's ages and things like that.
“Thank you so much. This is incredible.
“I wish I could give you a big hug.
“We’ve always said if we ever won anything, we’d take some time to think about it.
“It’s been tough lately, so I think we might need a holiday. We’ll take a trip somewhere nice just for us.”
Overwhelmed with the winning news, the longtime player couldn’t help but shed a tear.
“You’ve made him cry,” his wife said.
“It’s very well deserved.
“He’s such a hard worker and has such a big heart. You have no idea how much this means.
“We’re going to celebrate now with some non-alcoholic beers.”
