A Mossman man has ended a week-long camping trip with a one-million-dollar revelation, checking his Wednesday Gold Lotto ticket to discover he was the mystery division one winner lottery officials had been searching for.
The Far North Queensland player held one of the two division one winning entries across Australia in Monday & Wednesday Gold Lotto draw 4085, drawn Wednesday 9 June 2021. Each winning entry takes home a division one prize of $1 million.
Confirming his win with an official from The Lott this morning, the winning man explained he’d been none the wiser about his windfall.
“I’d forgotten about the ticket!” he said.
“I’ve been camping with no reception and hadn’t checked it until now.
“I’m trying to get my head around what I should do!
“I’ve been playing lottery games for a very long time.
“It’s hard to believe that I’ve finally won the big one.”
With $1 million about to hit his bank account, the Mossman resident said it was time to upgrade a few things around the house.
“I’ll be able to help the family,” he explained.
“I’ll tidy a few things up around the house and maybe buy a new car.
“It will certainly come in use.”
The division one winning entry was purchased at news extra Mossman, Shop 5, 35 Front Street, Mossman.

“This is great news for us and of course, for our entire community.”
The winning numbers in Monday & Wednesday Gold Lotto draw 4085 on Wednesday 9 June 2021 were 37, 11, 2, 23, 30 and 41, while the supplementary numbers were 36 and 20.
Across Australia, there were two division one winning entries in Monday & Wednesday Gold Lotto draw 4085 – one each from Queensland and Victoria.
