A Hallett Cove woman has confessed she didn’t get much sleep on Saturday night amid the excitement of discovering her “$1,000” Saturday X Lotto win was actually a $1 million prize.
The Adelaide resident held one of the five division one winning entries nationally in Saturday X Lotto draw 4491 drawn Saturday 3 August 2024. Each division one winning entry pocketed $1,044,169.77.
“This is a nice call to receive!” the woman laughed when an official from The Lott called to confirm her win.
“I checked my ticket about 10.30pm on Saturday night. I thought it was just $1,000. I’m looking at it, thinking, ‘something’s not right here’.
“I showed a family member. Then it hit us – there’s more digits!
“So, I didn’t sleep very well on Saturday night.
“I’ve been playing these numbers for about 30 years. They were just the numbers I liked when I first filled out the coupon and I’ve stuck with them. Each week I just play them again.
“I’ve had a few wins before, but nothing like this.
“I’m glad the numbers came up while I can still enjoy the prize!
“I might upgrade the car and then sit on the rest for a while for my retirement nest egg.”
The woman’s winning marked 14-game entry was purchased at Campbell’s Newsagency, Shop 2 & 3, Hallett Cove Shopping Centre, 246 Lonsdale Road, Hallet Cove.
The winning numbers in Saturday X Lotto draw 4491 on 3 August 2024 were 12, 41, 11, 10, 45 and 13, while the supplementary numbers were 40 and 28.
Across Australia, there were five division one winning entries in Saturday X Lotto draw 4491 – three in Victoria and one each in South Australia and Western Australia.
The Lott’s division one winning tally has now reached 258 so far in 2024, including 18 won by SA Lotteries customers.
