With New South Wales residents emerging out of lockdown, lottery players are being urged to check any old lottery tickets to see if they might have won a slice of more than $15 million in major prizes from recent draws.
There are nine unclaimed major prizes collectively worth $15,170,586.74 won during the past six months in Set for Life, Saturday Lotto, Monday & Wednesday Lotto and Lucky Lotteries Super Jackpot.
Three of these prizes were won during the past week.
All the tickets are unregistered, so officials from The Lott have no way of contacting the winners to break the news. Instead, they must wait for them to come forward and claim their prize.
The life-changing entries were purchased throughout the state, four were sold in Greater Sydney and one each in Canberra, Port Stephens, Lake Macquarie, Port Macquarie and Newcastle.
The Lott spokesperson Lauren Cooney said it was unusual to see so many unclaimed prizes in the one state, but understandably, people’s routines had been significantly impacted in recent months.
“We know that lottery players haven’t been able to check their tickets as they normally would but with restrictions beginning to ease throughout the state, it’s the perfect time to make sure you do,” she explained.
“There are currently nine people in New South Wales who don’t need to be waiting until the next lottery draw for their chance to win a life-changing prize – they already have but they just don’t know it yet.
“We’re looking for four mystery Sydney winners who purchased their division one winning entries in the suburbs of Winston Hills, West Ryde, Glenmore Park, and Wetherill Park.
“Outside of Sydney, we are also encouraging people who have purchased tickets at newsagencies in Canberra, Port Stephens, Lake Macquarie, Port Macquarie and Newcastle to check them.
“You can check your ticket at your nearest lottery outlet, on The Lott app or at thelott.com.
“These unsuspecting winners all hold unregistered entries, which means the ticket wasn’t registered to a player card, so we have no way of contacting them.
“We have no doubt your plans for the rest of the year are looking up but post-lockdown they could be a whole lot more exciting if you checked your ticket and realised you were holding a major prize winning entry!
“If you do realise you’re holding a division one winning entry, please call us on 131 866 to begin the process of claiming your prize.”

The Lott’s division one winning tally has now reached 354 so far this calendar year, including 105 won by NSW Lotteries customers.
In 2020, Saturday Lotto created 122 millionaires across Australia.
During this time, there were 312 division one winning in Saturday Lotto entries across Australia, which collectively won more than $355.13 million.
