A Dubbo couple have finally realised their good fortune after winning $200,000 in a Lucky Lotteries Mega Jackpot draw more than two weeks ago.
The couple won the guaranteed 1st Prize of $200,000 in Lucky Lotteries Mega Jackpot draw 1182, drawn Thursday 20 December 2018.
Sharing their joy with a NSW Lotteries official today, the husband and wife revealed the winning entry had been tucked away in their wallet for weeks before they were able to check their tickets.
“We can’t believe it!” they screamed with excitement.
“We’re so happy, we’re crying!
“It’s unbelievable!”
The woman explained her husband has been playing lotteries for more than 30 years.
“My husband plays religiously every week and today he went into the newsagency to check the tickets and the lady told us we’d won a big prize,” she shared.
“We raced home to give you a call.
“It’s just a blur. We can’t believe it!
“This certainly surpasses winning a chook raffle!”
The Dubbo residents said they wish they’d known of their good fortune over Christmas and already knew how they would use their prize.
“We will pay a few bills off,” she said.
“And we’ve always wanted to go to New York, so we might do that!
“We’re very, very lucky.
“This is just the best.”
The husband and wife, who wish to remain anonymous, purchased their winning entry of 1 random number at Gulgong Newsagency, 108 Mayne Street, Gulgong.
The Lucky Lotteries Mega Jackpot prize is now $35.32 million for draw 1194 while the Lucky Lotteries Super Jackpot is now $2.45 million for draw 10265.
