A Mernda dad is celebrating an unexpected milestone today as his $1 million win in last night's Weekday Windfall draw means he'll be able to wipe out his mortgage, years ahead of schedule.
The Victorian held the only division one winning entry nationally in Weekday Windfall draw 4615, drawn Wednesday 22 October 2025.
So far in 2025, there have been 25 division one winning entries in Melbourne’s north that have collectively taken home more than $81 million in prize money.
The winning man was on his way to work when he was stopped in his tracks to answer a life-enhancing phone call from lottery officials.
“Woo-hoo! Get out of here!” he laughed.
“That’s insane! I had no idea about this win.
“I didn’t get an email about a win last night and I just assumed that I didn’t win anything!
“I’m on my way to work right now, and I think it will be a bit hard to concentrate.
“I’m so shell-shocked.
“Wow. You often discuss what you would do if you won $1 million.
“We’ve got a little bit on the mortgage left, and we thought it would take a few more years to pay off, but now we’ll be able to pay it off completely!
“I’m also in my mid-50s now, so I want to be really sensible so my kids can enjoy the prize for years to come.
“We already have a fabulous life – my wife and I – but this will make our life even more fabulous!
“I love you!”
His winning 12-game QuickPick was purchased via The Lott app – the official home of Australia’s lotteries.
The winning numbers in Weekday Windfall draw 4615 on Wednesday 22 October 2025 were 3, 34, 41, 30, 1 and 5, while the supplementary numbers were 27 and 8.
Across Australia, there was one division one winning entry in Weekday Windfall draw 4615 – the one in Victoria.
