East Devonport man quits job to become a nomad after $621,000 TattsLotto win

An East Devonport man is planning to ditch the nine-to-five grind so he can travel around the country by caravan after discovering he won more than $621,000 in the weekend’s TattsLotto draw.

“I was actually watching the draw with my girlfriend. I do that every Saturday night,” he explained when speaking to an official from The Lott.

“I know all of my numbers off by heart, so I knew I had won division one straight away.

“I was overwhelmed, so overwhelmed. Even though I watched my numbers come out one after another, I still couldn’t believe it.

“It was a big shock! My girlfriend was gobsmacked too. It’s definitely not something that happens every day.

“After we got all of the initial excitement out of our system, we cracked a bottle of wine and made plans for the prize.

“I feel different now. In a good way. It’s taken the pressure off and makes me really excited for the future.

“I am going to be sensible with half of the prize and the other half of it I am going to use for fun.

“I have decided I want to buy a caravan and travel all around Australia.

“We will be nomads. It’s going to be a lot of fun!”

His winning entry was purchased at East Devonport Newsagency & Lotto, 71 Wright Street, East Devonport.

East Devonport Newsagency & Lotto owner Samantha Bell said the team was celebrating the exciting win.

“I couldn’t believe it when I saw the email notifying us of the win. I was shocked and so excited,” she explained.

“We will be spreading the news and celebrating by putting up balloons and signs. It’s going to be a great week.

“Our customers are ecstatic for us and for the winner. Our small community is over the moon and are hoping they’re next to win the big one.

“This is the first division one winning entry we’ve sold. We have been here for two years, and we’ve been waiting to have a big win since then. Now it’s our turn and it’s so exciting.

“We would love to congratulate our winner and hope it helps make all of his dreams come true. It’s just fantastic! We officially have that winning feeling!”

Oakdowns man to host huge party to celebrate $621,000 TattsLotto win

An Oakdowns man is planning to have a huge party with all of his mates to celebrate winning more than $621,000 in the weekend’s TattsLotto draw.

“I found out first thing this morning when I checked my online The Lott account,” he revealed when an official from The Lott called to confirm his win.

“I saw my account balance was zero, and so I just thought, ‘Ah, well, maybe next time I’ll have a win’. But I still wanted to check my ticket to see which numbers of mine came up.

“As soon as I clicked on the ticket, all of this confetti started falling from the top of the screen, which I thought was weird, considering I didn’t think I had won anything.

“I had a closer look and I thought I had won just over $600, which I was thrilled about. But I didn’t realise there were a lot of zeros on the end!

“When I logged back in a few moments later to check again, I saw what I actually had won.

“I couldn’t believe it. It’s a life-changing prize. It’s just so wonderful.

“I can’t begin to explain how happy I am. I feel numb still! It’s just crazy.

“I called my mum straight after I checked my ticket to tell her, and she cried. It’s an incredible win and I feel so grateful.

“I wanted to make sure it was real before I made any concrete plans with my prize.

“It’s hard to make plans when you don’t even believe it. I want to be sensible with the prize, so I really need to sit down and make a plan.

“I am definitely going to have a big party with all of my friends though. It’s going to be wild!”

His winning System 9 entry was purchased at thelott.com – the official home of Australia’s lotteries.

Search underway for Tasmania’s mystery $621,000 TattsLotto winner!

The search has begun for a mystery Tasmanian player who scored more than $621,000 in the weekend’s TattsLotto draw but has yet to come forward to claim their prize.

The winning entry is unregistered, which means officials from The Lott have no way of contacting the winner to break the life-changing news. Instead, they’re waiting for the ticketholder to come forward to claim their prize.

In Tasmania, division one winners have six months to claim their prize directly from Tatts. After this time, the prize can be claimed from the State Government.

The winning entry was purchased at newsXpress Shoreline, Shop 3 Shoreline Shopping Centre, 6 Shoreline Drive, Howrah.

The newsXpress Shoreline team said they hoped the winner checked their ticket and discovered the exciting news soon.

The Lott spokesperson Ally Ramsamy said she was more eager than ever to unite the player with their prize.

“It’s likely this winner has been going about their week as normal with no idea they’ve won more than $621,000 in the weekend’s draw!” she said.

“We’re urging all players who purchased a TattsLotto ticket from newsXpress Shoreline to check their tickets today.

“Make sure you check your ticket, which could be in your wallet, handbag, fridge door or car glovebox, because the winner could be you and you could be planning what to do with your prize too!

“If you discover you are holding the winning ticket, contact The Lott on 131 868 to begin the process of claiming your prize.”
