A Wavell Heights woman has declared her future has been transformed after taking home more than $1.6 million in the weekend’s Saturday Gold Lotto draw.
The Brisbane resident held one of the four division one winning entries in Saturday Gold Lotto draw 4597 on Saturday 9 August 2025. Each division one winning entry pocketed $1,668,614.99.
“I’m trying to just not be too excited… just in case,” the woman laughed when speaking to an official from The Lott.
“I checked the ticket at the newsagent and they looked at it like, ‘we think you’ve won a fair bit of money’.
“So, I came home and checked the ticket online. I thought, ‘Oh! This is exciting!’.
“It’s just beautiful! You’ve made my day!
“I always play Saturday Gold Lotto and I won $400 recently. I thought that was the best thing ever, but this is even better.
“It’s going to go a long, long way. Knocking over the mortgage – that’s the plan. It will make a huge difference. That’s a big enough treat!
“When I see the home loan disappear completely, I will be partying. It will be like I’m working for myself after that.”
The winning entry was purchased at Nextra Aspley Village, Robinson Road Marketplace, 605 Robinson Road, Aspley.
Nextra Aspley Village owner Dan Beutel said the win was great news for the region.
“As we’ve been here for 23 years, we know many of our customers personally and we know they’ll be very happy for us and the lucky winner,” he said.
“This is our fourth division one win during our time. The last time we sold a division one winning entry was in November 2023, so it’s fantastic to see another one. It’s great news for Aspley and we’ll be letting everyone know.

The winning numbers in Saturday Gold Lotto draw 4597 on 9 August 2025 were 45, 4, 10, 40, 41 and 14, while the supplementary numbers were 3 and 6.
Across Australia, there were four division one winning entries in Saturday Gold Lotto draw 4597 – three from Queensland and one from Victoria.
The Lott’s division one winning tally has now reached 267 so far in 2025, including 64 won by Golden Casket customers.
In 2024, Saturday Gold Lotto created 149 millionaires across Australia.
