A Logan woman’s holiday spirit has continued into January after an Instant Scratch-Its ticket she received for Christmas delivered her a $100,000 top prize.
The $5 Merry Christmas Instant Scratch-Its ticket was from Nextra Mount Ommaney News, Shop SP041, Mount Ommaney Shopping Centre, 171 Dandenong Road, Mount Ommaney.
When an official from The Lott spoke with the gleeful winner, she was still over the moon about her newfound treasure.
“It’s a bit of a shock but very exciting!” she said.
“I’m just so grateful. I don’t normally play Instant Scratch-Its, but I got this one as a gift for Christmas.
“I hadn’t scratched it until the other day, so it had just been sitting there.
“It was pretty crazy. I didn’t know I’d won at first and then when I realised, I just went ‘Oh my gosh!’.
“I don’t think I’ll ever receive a better Christmas present in my life!”
When asked how she planned to use her $100,000 bounty, the winning woman shared she would waste no time setting herself up and helping family.
“I just plan to save it and set myself up,” she said.
“I’ll also give some money to family and help them out.”
