A Toronto man is thanking a series of events that led to him buying his first ever entry into a Friday Weekday Windfall draw that ended up yielding him a $1 million prize.
The Lake Macquarie resident held the only division one winning entry in Weekday Windfall draw 4460 on Friday 25 October 2024. He scored $1 million.
“This is life changing!” the man declared when his prize was confirmed by an official from The Lott.
“I checked the ticket on Friday night when I saw the draw on TV . I wrote the numbers down and when I checked my ticket I thought, ‘I’ve got three numbers. Hang on a minute, I’ve got four. Then five. And then, holy hell, all six numbers!’.
“I rang a friend of mine and she said, ‘you’re joking!’. I took a photo of the ticket and sent it through to her.
“That’s the first time I’ve played Weekday Windfall on a Friday. I’ve played it on played before on a Wednesday or Monday here and there, but not on a Friday.
“I just happened to be down at Priceline doing the shopping and I thought I’d put a ticket in for the draw on Friday night.
“I’ve been battling all my life, so it’s come at a good time. It will allow me to enjoy a comfortable retirement.
“I’ll still get the occasional lottery ticket too! If you haven’t got a ticket, you haven’t got a chance!”
The man’s winning 18-game QuickPick entry was purchased at Priceline Pharmacy Toronto, Shop 14, Toronto Town Square, 63 The Boulevard, Toronto.
The winning numbers in Weekday Windfall draw 4460 on Friday 25 October 2024 were 30, 12, 43, 41, 2 and 39, while the supplementary numbers were 25 and 26.
Across Australia, there was one division one winning entry in Weekday Windfall draw 4460 – the entry from New South Wales.
