A Torquay shopper has a giant reason to celebrate today after scratching one of the top prizes of $150,000 on a $10 Jumbo Crosswords Instant Scratch-Its ticket.
But who the winner is, and how they plan to spend their $150,000 instant windfall will forever be a mystery, as the ticketholder has chosen to remain completely anonymous and celebrate their jumbo win in private.
The winning ticket was purchased at Torquay Lotto & Gifts, Shop 1, 19 Gilbert Street, Torquay.
Torquay Lotto & Gifts owner Karen Tullis said she was thrilled to have sold the outlet’s first top prize winning Instant Scratch-Its in four years.
“It is so exciting! We just love it!” she exclaimed.
“It is lovely when people from the area win and we can help them realise their dream of winning.
“We really pick up on their buzz of excitement when they win. It’s great!
“We’ve sold a couple of top prize winning Instant Scratch-Its in the past but the last one was four years ago now.
“We are glad this win has broken the drought and we hope to sell another major prize again soon!”
Instant Scratch-Its spokesperson Bronnie Spencer said the Torquay winner was one of the dozens of Instant Scratch-Its top prize winners from Victoria so far this year.
