A Tullamarine dad is planning an unforgettable Christmas for his family, topped off with a holiday to the Sunshine State after winning $10,000 on an Instant Scratch-Its ticket.
The top prize winning $1 Sheep Thrills ticket was purchased at Tullamarine Authorised News, 191 Melrose Drive, Tullamarine.
Confirming his prize with an official from The Lott this morning, the Melbourne man explained how his “unbelievable” win came to be.
“I had some spare change, so I went into my local newsagency and bought four $1 scratchies,” he explained.
“I totally forgot I had them until the weekend.
“I started scratching them and I thought ‘this can’t be right’.
“Then I showed my wife and she couldn’t believe it either.
“We went to back down to the newsagency and they confirmed the win for us!
“We still can’t believe it. Ten thousand dollars is fantastic!
“It is such a great feeling!”
When asked how he planned to enjoy his instant windfall, the excited dad said his children were in for their best Christmas yet.
“It’s really great for Christmas,” he said.
“We won’t have to stress this year. It will really set us up.
“We will be able to buy the family lots of presents and take the children on a holiday to Queensland.
“We’re still in disbelief. We’re going to have a great holiday!”
Tullamarine Authorised News owner Mariana Urosevic said she was thrilled to see the top prize go to one of her regular customers.
“This man often comes in to visit us, so we were so excited when he won,” she said.
