A Tumby Bay woman is galloping into the Year of the Horse and declaring 2026 her year to shine after securing a $200,000 win in yesterday’s Lucky Lotteries draw.
The Eyre Peninsula resident held the 1st Prize winning entry in Lucky Lotteries Mega Jackpot draw 1777, drawn Monday 9 March 2026. She looks forward to a neat $200,000 prize.
The winning woman initially missed calls from lottery officials attempting to confirm her prize as her phone was stuck on do not disturb.
“I still can’t believe it! I keep logging into my account and double checking to see if it’s real!” she said when finally speaking with an official from The Lott.
“It was my day!
“Sorry I missed your calls yesterday; my phone was stuck on do not disturb.
“It’s just fantastic news.
“All the planets aligned for me. It’s funny because I decorated my house for Chinese New Year, and I said to my kids that this was going to be my year – Year of the Horse!
“I’m still trying to wrap my head around it.”
Despite the initial shock, the generous mother said she’d take her time processing her win and sharing with her family.
“I’m going to take my children and my grandkids on a holiday. They’re everything to me,” she said.
“I’ll spend the next two weeks planning what I’ll do with the rest.
“Thank you so much!”
Her winning entry of five random numbers was purchased on The Lott website – the official home of Australia’s lotteries.
The Lucky Lotteries Mega Jackpot prize is now $27.04 million for draw 1778, while the Lucky Lotteries Super Jackpot prize is now $1.41 million for draw 11064.
Lucky Lotteries Super Jackpot and Lucky Lotteries Mega Jackpot are raffle-style games, which means there is a set number of tickets in each draw. As each ticket number is unique there is no sharing of prizes.
