Wouldn’t it be nice to start the working week receiving million-dollar news? That’s the reality for a young Melbourne businessman and a greater Melbourne small business owner who both won more than $1 million in Saturday’s TattsLotto draw!
The winning men each held one of the four division one winning entries across Australia in TattsLotto draw 3861 on 21 July 2018. Each entry takes home a division one prize of $1,004,249.80.
Young businessman’s good fortune
When a Tatts official made contact with the young Melbourne businessman this morning, he was oblivious to his million-dollar windfall.
“Wow!” he exclaimed when he recovered from his initial shock and started to process the news.
“I’ve got a million thoughts about what I’d like to do!
“But there has to be a degree of sensibility and a degree of fun. So, I’ll just try to balance those two.”
While the winner has decided to remain anonymous, he did share that a holiday is on the cards as the ‘fun’ part of his win.
“I haven’t been on a holiday in three years.
“I used to travel all over the place when I was younger, but I’ve been focused on my career and it’s been difficult.
“With this money I think I can now afford to take a bit of time off!”
His message to other players was: “You have to be in it to win it”.
Cash boost for new small business
After catching his breath, the greater Melbourne winner explained the million-dollar cash boost has come at a perfect time for him and his family.
“I recently left corporate life and started my own business, which has been quite draining on our funds. So, this is very good news – it gives us a great start!” he said.
“I’ll do the usual things... pay off debts and help family.
“There’ll be some fun too. No doubt we’ll jet off on a holiday somewhere overseas.”
Both Melbourne winners purchased their entries online at thelott.com – Australia’s official lotteries.
So far this calendar year, Monday & Wednesday Lotto and TattsLotto have created 106 millionaires across Australia.
The six winning numbers in TattsLotto draw 3861 on Saturday 21 July 2018 were 4, 15, 2, 16, 24 and 14. The supplementary numbers were 33 and 18.
Across Australia there were four division one winning entries in TattsLotto draw 3861 – three from Victoria and one from Queensland.
The Lott’s division one winning tally has now reached 221 so far this calendar year, including 94 won by Tatts customers.
